One of the biggest mistakes you can make is taking your knowledge for granted.

One line in your story can transform the consciousness of a reader. You don’t know who’s depressed and needs to hear the perspective you have to offer. Mentioning that app that you think every person has already heard of can create a massive habit change for someone else. What you consider a simple suggestion can change the course of somebody’s career.

Underestimating their own knowledge is the number one reason most people don’t think they have any good ideas. Many photographers haven’t heard of Pexels or Unsplash. There’s a whole host of screenwriters unaware that the ISA exists. The power of Grammarly is unknown to some struggling authors.

Widen your understanding of ignorance

You never know what someone doesn’t know. We are all missing tons of knowledge because we do not have the time or space to know everything.

What my girlfriend thinks is basic biology could have me manically checking Google for hours. What I assume is a common understanding of American politics can leave someone else dumbfounded. What a filmmaker…
